NVS-03 Launch Will Add an Indigenous Clock and L1 Navigation Signal

India has scheduled the NVS-03 navigation satellite for launch aboard GSLV-F18 at 11:51 p.m. Indian Standard Time on October 30, 2026. The spacecraft will depart from the Second Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The ISRO mission description identifies NVS-03 as the third satellite in the next-generation navigation series supporting continuity of India’s regional navigation service. GSLV-F18 is the launch vehicle’s 20th flight and will place the spacecraft into geosynchronous transfer orbit.

NVS-03 carries an indigenous atomic clock alongside procured clocks. Satellite navigation relies on precise timing because receivers determine distance from the travel time of radio signals.

The payload includes an L1 signal in addition to L5 and S-band signals. ISRO specifies service coverage over India and a region extending 1,500 kilometers beyond its geopolitical boundary.

Launch-day reporting confirms the scheduled evening departure. In Ottawa, the corresponding launch time is 2:21 p.m. EDT on October 30.
