Volunteer Opportunity: Space Industry Correspondent – India

Are you passionate about the rapidly growing space sector in India? Do you have a knack for writing and want to make a meaningful contribution to covering this exciting field? We are seeking a motivated volunteer (unpaid) to research and write articles about the Indian space economy, including both government programs and private commercial initiatives.

Description of Duties:

  • Research the latest developments in India’s space industry, including activities of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), IN-SPACe (Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre), and private space companies
  • Write clear, informative articles covering space missions, policies, investments, startups, and the societal and economic impact of the space sector
  • Interview experts and stakeholders in the Indian space industry to gain insights and perspectives
  • Cite credible sources and fact-check information to ensure accuracy in reporting
  • Adhere to deadlines and editorial guidelines

Impact:

As a volunteer correspondent severance, you will play a vital role in increasing public awareness and excitement about India’s space economy. Your articles will highlight how India is becoming a leader in space exploration and commercial space activities. You’ll shed light on the innovative work being done by ISRO, private industry, and startups, and how these efforts benefit the country.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Strong research abilities and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with India’s space industry and interest in space science and technology
  • Ability to understand and explain complex topics in an engaging way
  • Journalism or science communication experience is a plus

Time Commitment:

We request a commitment of writing one in-depth article per month, 1000 to 2000 words, with each article expected to require approximately 10-15 hours of research and writing time. This is a remote volunteer opportunity with a flexible schedule.
